The 23rd “Chinese Bridge”- Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students and the 17th “Chinese Bridge” – Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students in Slovakia Region Held at Comenius University in Bratislava

On 13th May, 2024, local time, the 23rd “Chinese Bridge” – Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students and the 17th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students in Slovakia region was successfully held in the auditorium of Comenius University in Bratislava. The competition was hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Slovak Republic, and organized by the Confucius Institute at Comenius University in Bratislava.

The competition garnered widespread local attention, with 16 university and high school students from five schools qualifying for the on-site contest.

At the competition, the participants fully demonstrated their Chinese language proficiency and expressed their love for Chinese culture through themed speeches, talent shows, Q&A sessions with judges and so on. Watch the beautiful video compilation posted on Chinese XINHUA NEWS here.

After intense competition, Shao Dawei (Dávid Šandala), a student from the Department of East Asian Studies at Comenius University in Bratislava, won first place in the 21st “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students. Zeng Shiping (Radka Bogárová), a student from Nitra High School, won first place in the 17th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students. Both winners will represent Slovakia to participate in global finals in China.
