Hands-on course: dishes showcasing China’s eight major culinary traditions

From March to June (4 months) and September to December (3 months) of 2024, we plan to organize 15 sessions of Chinese culinary experience events. The entire program will provide Slovak-language translations and guidance for making a variety of traditional Chinese dishes and pastries. The course is open to all Slovak friends who enjoy Chinese cuisine, regardless of age. Participants will receive series of explanations and hands-on guidance for preparing 15 Chinese traditional dishes and pastries, including Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, Longjing Shrimp, Li Hongzhang’s Mixed Vegetables, Homestyle Stir-Fried Pork, Garlic Vermicelli Shrimp and Dumplings, among many others.

Participants can taste the dishes they prepare on-site or take them away. Students can choose to attend multiple sessions or select individual sessions. The total cost for a single session, including food ingredients, is EUR 30,-. Each student can bring one person under the age of 14 for free. Tuition fees must be paid online to the Confucius Institute’s designated account before the 1st of the month in which the course begins, with the student’s name specified. Almost all dishes contain rice as a side dish (except for March 29 Dumplings).
Venue: Garden Chinese Restaurant, Seberíniho 1, Bratislava – Ružinov
